ARCHIVE: Fertiliser recommendations for agricultural and horticultural crops (RB209)
The Fertiliser Manual (RB209)
The Fertiliser Manual (RB209) replaces the old Fertiliser Recommendations 7th edition (2000). It provides recommendations for the use of lime and major nutrients (N, P, K, S, Mg, Na) on most field-grown crops including arable, grassland, field vegetables and fruit. Additionally, it provides details of the content and supply of nutrients from a wide range of organic manures, and provides a wide range of background information on nutrient management.
The purpose of the Manual is to help farmers and their advisers achieve good nutrient management, and so enable them to produce more food cost effectively in a way that improves the quality of our water, air and soil and which preserves the natural resources on which future food production depends. It helps farmers and their advisors decide the best level of fertiliser to use on the main crop types for their particular situation.
