ARCHIVE: Bovine TB: Latest provisional detailed TB statistics
The following tables provide the latest provisional statistics on bovine TB (bTB) in Great Britain, as extracted from the Animal Health database.
The terminology used to describe TB breakdowns in these statistics to classify herds according to their TB status have been brought in line with that used in EU regulations. This means the following changes have been made:
| Old terminology | New terminology |
|---|---|
| Herds under movement restriction | Herds not officially TB free (non-OTF herds) |
| Unrestricted herds | Officially TB free (OTF) herds |
| New confirmed herd incidents | New herd incidents with OTF status withdrawn (OTFW) |
There is no change to the composition of the underlying data. Further information on this and TB incident classification can be found in the Animal Health Official Veterinarian Newsletter (PDF)
Please note:
- All data is provisional and incomplete, subject to change as more data becomes available.
- When making year on year comparisons of bTB incidence, it is important that these are not made in isolation but in the context of the wider disease picture over a longer timeframe.
- In using and interpreting the bTB statistics, please note the following points.
Provisional bovine TB statistics for Great Britain: 1 January - 31 March 2011
