Please tell us how we can improve WasteDataFlow
Recently there have been a number of developments, with reporting burdens on local authorities and waste policy all coming under review. As part of this, we are looking at how WasteDataFlow can adapt and respond to these issues in the future. Feedback from users is essential as part of this review and we would be very grateful if you could find the time to complete the WasteDataFlow User Feedback Survey. We would like as many responses as possible by Friday 25th February, but the survey will remain open after this date.
Local authority collected waste was previously referred to as municipal waste. For details of the change in terminology read the definition of terms (30 KB).”
Local authority collected waste data for 2004/5 onwards has been collected via WasteDataFlow the Department's online system for quarterly local authority collected waste data reporting by Local Authorities. WasteDataFlow replaced the Defra Municipal Waste Management Survey from 2004/5.

WasteDataFlow
WasteDataFlow is an internet based system for local authority data reporting. Data collection is quarterly and returns are due within 3 months of the end of each quarter in England. The aims are to provide more frequent and timely data and to reduce the number of different surveys officials must complete. In addition it is used by the Environment Agency to monitor Landfill Allowance Trading Scheme (LATS) from 2005/6. WasteDataFlow will also allow benchmarking against other authorities. WasteDataFlow has replaced the Defra Municipal Waste Management Survey for 2004/5 onwards. Further information
