ARCHIVE: Advisory Committee on Packaging

Aims and Objectives

The new Advisory Committee on Packaging (ACP) was established at the start of 2010. The Committee advises on UK compliance with the EC Directive on packaging and packaging waste (94/62/EC, as amended) and on the implementation of the UK’s Packaging Strategy Making the Most of Packaging.

Full details of the ACP’s aims and objectives can be found in the Committee’s terms of reference and it's work plan (PDF 30 KB).

The ACP operates according to the principles in its Code of conduct (PDF 25 KB).

ACP Meeting Minutes

The ACP meets quarterly. Meetings in 2010 will be held on the 21st June, 28th July and the 5th November. Minutes of the Committee meetings can be found below.

ACP Taskforces

The ACP can establish taskforces to investigate particular issues in relation to packaging policy. Members are appointed by the Chairman and need not be members of the Committee. Taskforce members are asked to join a taskforce because they have a specialist knowledge of a particular area the taskforce is investigating or a particular skill which the taskforce needs to access to carry out its work.

If you feel you can contribute to the work of future taskforces please contact Robert Rawlings at the email address at the bottom of this page. Please see below details of taskforces operating in 2010.
