Portable Batteries Stakeholder Consultation Group

Defra has convened a Portable Batteries Stakeholder Consultation Group to inform and advise Defra on progress and issues arising with the system for collecting and recycling portable batteries, stemming from the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009 and Batteries and Accumulators Directive 2006.  The Terms of Reference (PDF 90 KB) for this group is available here.

To ensure the group is effective, the group needs to be kept to a reasonable size. Members have been selected to provide fair representation for those affected by the Regulations, but Defra will keep membership of the group under review.

Should you have a specific issue you would like the group to address, please contact Defra directly at the dedicated mailbox portable.batteries@defra.gsi.gov.uk.
