Meetings

Defra conducts regular meetings with different stakeholder groups throughout the year with industry, local authorities and with technical experts.

It enables a constructive dialogue to take place on a variety of issues and provides all attendees with a good feel for what is happening “on the ground”, to air concerns, to outline current progress and future developments in policy and to agree steps forward.

Defra holds two strategic meetings per year with its Industrial Pollution Liaison Committee (IPLC) comprising local authority representative organisations, and the Industry Forum (IF) comprising various business organisations.
