ARCHIVE: Identifying the barriers and incentives to deliver better environmental and social outcomes
This project aims to identify
obstacles that exist to prevent the greatest environmental and social benefits
being achieved. The project will not duplicate work which is already in hand to
remove these barriers. However, where additional work is needed to remove an
obstacle to meeting the MSfW aim, action plans will be agreed with those
responsible.
In achieving this the project team will be working closely
with stakeholders, operating authorities and other relevant partners. The
solution to many of the barriers will be dependent on developing a common
understanding of the issues to be solved, ownership of the problems and a
common purpose in addressing obstacles to better delivery.
This project
is intended to improve the delivery of sustainable objectives, enable more
joined up policy and delivery and improve stakeholder relations, thus resulting
in more effective and sustainable flood risk management. It will be key to
ensuring broader understanding that flood and erosion risk management is
contributing to a wide range of social, environmental and economic objectives.
