Summary
This Government consultation invites views on proposals to introduce RES civil sanctions into EP Regulations and make a series of other amendments to the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010.
Environmental Permitting is a Better Regulation initiative designed to reduce costs for operators and the regulator by cutting unnecessary red tape, while continuing to protect the environment and human health.
The documents are aimed at the Regulator, the regulated community and any others who may be interested.
This paper may be of interest to: Operators of activities which require environmental permits, Regulators with an interest in the above facilities (in particular the Environment Agency and Local Authorities) and Others with interest in environmental permitting and compliance (e.g. those living near or affected by regulated premises, environmental and consumer groups, the environmental technology and related sectors, the legal profession, academics etc).

The consultation will run for 8 weeks and will close on 24 September 2010. Hard copies of all documents are available from eppadministrator@defra.gsi.gov.uk.
