To ensure the implementation of the Scheme across the Defra network consistently
Impact area/s: Activity: Leadership, Service Delivery, Employment and Community Engagement
Key Elements:
- Effective internal communication and marketing of the Scheme and its concepts through a clear strategy, through use of Internet , Office Notices, meetings and EqIA workshops (May 2008)
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure their participation and support, for example through the proposed Race Equality Scheme Advisory and Scrutiny Group (September 2008)
- Management Board to demonstrate commitment (June 2008)
- Identify, prioritise and allocate appropriate resources to deliver the Scheme (June 2008)
- Individuals take responsibility for failures and mistakes (ongoing through Personal Development Plans)
- Engagement with Renew Modernisation Programme to effect timely changes. (ongoing)
Outcomes
To ensure Scheme is taken forward effectively and consistently, all Defra personnel are aware of the associated benefits / consequences
Performance/progress measures
- Monitoring in relation to the scope of engagement activity in support of the Scheme
- Action leads are able to progress in accordance with timetable
- Public satisfaction surveys with regard to levels of trust and confidence
- Staff surveys in relation to levels of satisfaction
