ARCHIVE: Contingency planning in Defra
In Defra, when we talk about Contingency Planning we mean two separate things: "Emergency Planning", and "Business Continuity Planning". These are considered to be a key part of normal business, helping Defra to meet our obligations.
Due to our wide remit, Defra, working with other organisations, has a key role to play in a range of scenarios. These pages provide a summary of our roles and responsibilities; set out what we are doing to further improve our preparedness and act as a gateway to further information.
